It's a good day to be an American Democrat abroad. It's like a big apology to Europe, as if to say, We Didn't Know What We Were Thinking But We'll Try Better This Time.

The Ponte Vecchio, on of the bridges on the Arno is lit up for one reason or another. Tuesday it was red and blue lights. Tonight it is only red. Also along the river there are poorly strung lights and are straight for the most part but curve often. It just looks like a sad house at Christmas.

Bubby, you have a paypal account, right?

Yes why? Do you want to send me money? Do you need me to buy something for you? You know that now since you have your own bank account you can buy you own things on eBay, right?

Yes, I know. I set up an account with Paypal, but I can't add my bank account because I don't have any checks. I wanted to ask if yours was through your bank account and if there was a way of getting around the check thing.

I also asked Paypal, but they have yet to get back to me.

That sounds silly. You should be able to use your savings account. When I did it a few years ago all I needed was the number for my account. You give them the number then they deposit a small amount into your account. To confirm, you check the amount and tell paypal how much it was. And then they let you spend all your hard earned Ziegler money on clothes.

That's what the screen looks like. Is that what it was when you signed up? I already tried entering it without a routing number, but it doesn't work.

You shouldh ave a routing number for your account either way. DId they give you a book in which you can write down your deposits and withdrawls? Like if you want to go to the bank and take out money you should have this book that already says your number. That should be the routing number.

i wouldnt get your hopes up.
alot of the democrats hold virtually the same views on issues as the republicans, and theres no reason to think they will stop cowering before the bush administration, not to mention thier refusal to oppose the war in Iraq, as well as to hold those responsbile for starting the criminal war (which they also voted for and supported). Thier silence on the issue is a tacit endorsment of the administrations war, only opposing how it is operating
pardon my cynicism, I just dont see much to make me feel otherwise.

You always have to be a cynic.

more than anything I think I am happy that a lot of Americans seem to feel like Bush and the Republicans are doing a bad job.

Don't get so down on the Democrats so early. In a year if things are still the same, then you can say this to me again.

just out of curiosity, I'm wondering which things will be better in a year? It's not like the democrats are a new party, we've seen them cower before the republicans on virtually every issue, the most pressing being the war in Iraq, which like I said they refuse to oppose in any serious way, aside from militant posturing on the handling of the war.
On the other hand it's a positive sign that people are waking up and voting for an alternative, albeit a non deserving benefeciary, it's just going to be a little sad when the well meaning people are left with a sour taste in thier mouth, as we will undoubtedly see within the year.

anyway, dont mean to be a downer, thats just my 10cents.

i hope things are well abroad, I wanna talk to you sometime! it must be an adventure over there.

have a nice night/(day?)
